The Card Through The Window Trick

by Preston on October 23, 2007

I performed “The Card Through The Window Trick” at work today. No one knew I was about to perform this trick so they wasn’t looking around. The way i did it was very simple.

I placed the card on the opposite side of the hallway and when a group of people were having their break i said wait let me show u a trick. The way I stood made them stand away from the window covering the card. I forced a duplicate card on someone and revealed the wrong card.

They did the “maybe next time” and was about to walk away when i got “angry” and flicked all the cards at the window. Within seconds they saw the card on the window and were amazed. One person even scratched the window to confirm that the revealed card was on the other side of the glass. The trick was very easy to perform with a great reaction All you need to do is setup a card and use your favorite force.

Snapple Drink Card Trick

by Preston on April 5, 2007

Effect: Magician rips a piece of a card and reveals that the rest of the card magically went inside a sealed Snapple drink.

Preparation: To perform the Snapple drink card trick you will need to do the following.

(Note: any other bottle that has a pop up safety button will work)

First you need 3 Duplicate cards to perform this trick. Take 2 cards holding them very tightly; rip off a corner of the card.

Holding the card tightly will make you make exactly even rips to both cards.

Next you will need

1. A Snapple Drink ( I perfer a Snapple Mint Ice Tea, In Bottle, 16 fl oz because of the color of the drink works better with hiding the card)
2. Microwave
3. Refrigerator

Take the Snapple drink or other bottle with the pop up button cap and take the cap off.

Next take the Snapple bottle and put it in the microwave without the cap on for about one or two minutes. You want to get the Snapple drink very hot to the point where its getting close to boil.

Next you would put whatever you wanted to reveal in the bottle, in this case the ripped card.

Next you need to put the Snapple cap back on the Snapple drink and then put it in to the refrigerator and leave it there for a couple of hours.

Snapple Fun Fact

Air expands when it is warmed. So when you reseal the cap and place the Snapple in the refrigerator it will cause the cap to get sucked down from suction.

Method: You start the performance by forcing a card on a spectator while having the Snapple Drink near you on a table.

You take the forced card and rip off a corner of the card. You need to palm the corner you cut before the trick and let the spectator have that peice and hide the one you just ripped.

After that you take the ripped card and shuffle it into the deck and you if you want you can lose the card with some double sided tape or palming it and pocketing the card.

As you pretend to be searching for the card you ask the spectator if he can pour you some Snapple.

The spectator then opens the sealed Snapple bottle (with a pop sound!) and pours the drink to reveal the card is inside the glass.

You then take the card out and the ripped piece will match perfectly.

Was Harry Houdini Murdered?

by Preston on March 23, 2007

The family of Harry Houdini is requesting the body of Harry Houdini the world’s most famous illusionist be exhumed to examine it for evidence that his death was not accidental.

“It needs to be looked at,” George Hardeen told The Associated Press. “His death shocked the entire nation, if not the world. Now, maybe it’s time to take a second look.”

Houdini’s family scheduled a news conference for Friday to give details on the plans. Prominent New York lawyer Joseph Tacopina is helping clear any legal hurdles to the exhumation.

A team of top forensic investigators would conduct new tests on Houdini’s body, said Hardeen, whose grandfather was Houdini’s brother.

The circumstances surrounding Houdini’s sudden death are as murky as the rivers where he often escaped from chains, locks and wooden boxes.

The generally accepted version was that Houdini, 52, suffered a ruptured appendix from a punch in the stomach, leading to a fatal case of peritonitis. But no autopsy was performed.

When the death certificate was filed on Nov. 20, 1926, Houdini’s body — brought by train from Detroit to Manhattan — had already been buried in Queens, along with any evidence of a possible death plot.

Within days, a newspaper headline wondered, “Was Houdini Murdered?”
