Criss Angel As Luke Blade Tonight On CBS CSI NY
Posted on February 28th, 2007 at 7:15 am by Preston
Criss Angel will make a guest appearance on CBS CSI NY tonight at 10pm EST.
Criss Angel will play world-renowned illusionist Luke Blade. When Luke Blade brings his show to New York, his crew members start dieing. It will be up to Mac and his team of detectives to shed some light on the mysterious deaths.
CBS has a sneak peek of tonight’s episode of CBS CSI NY available to view right now. I have to admit, I haven’t watched CBS CSI NY before, but this episode sounds like a good one to catch.
I still will be watching Lost tonight and will catch this episode of CSI NY with Criss Angel online tommorow on CBS.com

Astonishing The Workers at the Apple Mac Store
Posted on February 25th, 2007 at 10:30 pm by Preston
This weekend at Aventura Mall Miami FL we walked the mall and showed some people some magic tricks.
Unfortunately we only were able to film one of the times. I’ll have that video up shortly.
One particular person had very positive results. It was an employee of the Aventura Mall Apple Store named Gary.
I did the ambiguous card routine flawlessly with his signed card. He was amazed with the trick. I then said “I’ll show you one more trick gary” and forced the 7 of Clubs on him. Moisha the Magician already put a duplicate 7 of Clubs in his wallet during the ambiguous card routine.
Preston: And I give a little snap and presto chango your card is now on top.
(I flip over a King of Diamonds)
Gary Apple Store Employee: That’s not my card…
Preston: What? Are you sure? It must have been this one then.
(Shows 3 of Spades)
Gary Apple Store Employee: No
(Gary sighs with disappointment)
Preston: What was your card?
Gary Apple Store Employee: the 7 of Clubs
Preston: No it couldn’t have been the 7 of Clubs
Gary Apple Store Employee: It was the 7 of Clubs, I promise.
Preston: It couldn’t of been the 7 of Clubs, because the 7 of Clubs is in your wallet…
(I do the David Blaine Stare)
Gary Apple Store Employee: No. you didn’t even touch me.
(Precedes to look inside his wallet and finds the 7 of Clubs)
Hilarity Ensues and Gary begs me to show him how the trick was done. I tell him to check out StreetMagicBlog.com

That’s Hawaiian Bounty Hunters One, Magic Guy None
Posted on February 24th, 2007 at 8:15 pm by Preston
“So, that’s Hawaiian bounty hunters ONE, magic guy NONE!” said Dog the Bounty Hunter to Criss Angel after his houdini like water escape went wrong.
Apparently an escape involving Criss Angel and Dog the Bounty Hunter in the Las Vegas Luxor hotel’s pool went wrong during filming for Mindfreak Season 3, Dog the Bounty Hunter was asked to tie and shackle Criss Angel and throw him into the Luxor pool for what should have been a daring aquatic escape.
Angel was submerged for 4-1/2 minutes trying to get free from the bounty hunter’s “Samoa Knot”, when his handlers got the sign to go in after him. Angel has rarely stayed under for more than 2-1/2 to 3 minutes, so it was “a close one,” a rep said.
The good news for Criss Angel fans, Dog the Bounty Hunter has accepted a rematch to take place in Hawaii. This is supposibly Criss Angels’ first blown magic trick in 15 years.

Putting Cards in a Spectator’s Pocket
Posted on February 22nd, 2007 at 9:15 pm by Preston
Putting cards in people’s pockets I think is on the top of the list of tricks that will make people amazed.
Today at work I slipped a card in a manager’s pocket when he was talking to someone else at work. I later asked him if he wanted to see a magic trick, of course he said yes.
I forced a duplicate card on him. I shuffled it into the deck and revealed the wrong card. After he told me it wasn’t his card, I asked him what his card was? He said ,”the 7 of Clubs”. I answer with, “7 of Clubs? No that’s impossible it couldn’t of been the 7 of clubs….because the 7 of clubs is in your pocket”.
He looks in his pocket and pulls out his wallet and inside his wallet was the 7 of clubs. I got really lucky with the card slipping inside his wallet. But nevertheless everyone was amazed and a few people thought he was in on the trick.
Anyone have any good techniques or suggestions for putting a card in someone’s pocket or revealing the card is in their pocket?

David Blaine: Fly Ressurection Illusion
Posted on February 22nd, 2007 at 7:00 am by Preston
I received an email yesterday asking me how David Blaine does the Fly Ressurection. I thought everyone knew how this was done but for those who don’t I wrote up a short explanation.
Fly Ressurection Illusion
Effect: Pick a spectator and ask them to come with you to a nearby spot where you find a dead fly. You put it in his or your palm and appear to be concentrating hard and the fly will slowly come back to life and fly away.
Preparation: Freeze the fly, putting the fly in a temporary coma.
Method: You need to catch a fly and freeze it. I suggest you get some Dry Ice and put it in a small portable cooler to bring with you on the streets.
When your ready to perform the Fly Ressurection illusion, take the fly out of the dry ice and place him somewhere in the shade. It’s important that the fly is in the shade to precent the fly from defrosting too quickly.
The heat of your hand will revive the fly.

Street Magic DVD Reviews
Posted on February 21st, 2007 at 11:00 pm by Preston
(Note: I am no way affiliated with PenguinMagic.com or Ellusionist.com at the time of posting.)
I just finished watching a street magic dvd entitled Crash Course 1: Sleight of Hand Card Tricks. This street magic dvd is broken down fully and taught by Brad Christian. I enjoyed this street magic DVD.
After I watched Born to Perform Card Magic with Oz Pearlman I realized this street magic DVD is much more superior compared to Crash Course 1. It goes over the same things but Born to Perform teaches a lot more other awesome techniques moves, and ways to milk the crowd. I will definitely be watching this Street Magic DVD again, Whereas I don’t believe I’ll be watching the Crash Course 1 again.
Born to Perform goes over 4 full routines, fundamentals, practical controls, and flourishes. Both street magic DVD’s go for 29.95 and you can find them on their websites.
